A Laminar Project - A Laminar ProjectA Laminar Project is the musical outlet of Fred Szymanski, a New York based composer recording for a Dutch label. It gently unfolds to a series of atmospheric noise pieces, replete with treated and processed sound sources in the foreground. The noise within A Laminar Project isn't too abrasive or jolting - like Merzbow or Masonna - but instead pursues a more measured approach - 'Nk-Tensor' even utilises minimal ambience. Comparisons may include Bernhard Günter, or Francisco Lopez due to the attention to detail within these electro-works. There's inessential but worthwhile sounds herein, even if A Laminar Project tends to the artier end of the noise spectrum. For more information go to www.jdkproductions.com |
