C4I - Copenacre

C4I is the collaborative project of Ashley Davies (Project Dark, Headbutt), John Everall (Tactile, Multicide) and Joe Banks (Disinformation). This is their second release following on from the live performances captured on the ultra-limited White vinyl LP. The Copenacre Quarry that was used for military warfare research during the years-1969 - 1985 inspires Copenacre, the latest on Staalplaat. Electronic laboratory and military equipment create the sounds used by C4I which consist of site recordings, sound processing and editing. It's raw, ambient (in the truest sense of the word) and at times slightly abrasive. One track even reminded me of Coil's How To Destroy Angels. Coupled with the psychogeographical mapping this is sound research at its finest.
