Naevus - Soil

Naevus have tentative
links with Leisurehive, Joanne Owens plays bass in both outfits.
However Naevus appears to shine under the auspices of Lloyd
James.
Soil their second CD remains a rather good piece of
work. Shimmering acoustic guitars augmented by a solid driven
bass line and thunderclap percussion, and a singer whose
distinctively English vocal sit someplace between David Tibet and
John Lydon. The overall acoustic nature of the music may elicit
comparisons with other dark folk outfits but Naevus appear free
of the trapping of apocalyptic folk genre.
Soil displays
more idiosyncricies and it deserve a successful entry into the
dark folk scene. Both Karl Blake and John Murphy are scheduled to
contribute to a future Naevus release. For more information go
